-Scott W. Parker

In this drawing of a Nebraska farm, the geometric patterns evident in the sky bring about a sense of movement. One can almost feel the wind rushing across the open farmland.

The Artist's Statement

-----My work proceeds from the directional motions of the subject - the horizontals, verticals and diagonals that I find in the subject form the structure of my work. I use shifting perspectives to capture the simultaneous multiple experiences of a single subject. I then use the contextual dynamics between curves and straight edges, fields and lines, color and space, until the finished work emerges. As I challenge further the relationships of color, line, thought and coincidence, through both error and discovery my work evolves and my vocabulary grows stronger.
